Goals and Motivation
The goal of the “Digital Twin NRW Competence Center” is to create a digital infrastructure that provides the target groups with easy access to digital twin technology, thereby enabling an informative user experience.
Objectives of the Digital Twin Competence Center
- The DigitalTwin.NRW Competence Center aims to systematically address existing gaps in the development of skills related to digital twins.
- The goal is to empower various target groups—across the entire qualification chain—to confidently understand digital twins and apply them practically in education, research, and industry.
- Knowledge transfer between research, education, and industrial application is to be purposefully accelerated and structurally embedded.
- A transferable reference infrastructure for the use of digital twins in manufacturing is to be provided, serving as a practical model for implementation across diverse industrial contexts.
Key Areas of Focus
- Development of learning, training, and demonstrator formats centered on the digital twin
- Preparation of methods, models, and application-related knowledge for diverse target groups
- Fostering connections between research, education, and industrial practice to facilitate professional exchange
- Establishing and testing a reference-capable infrastructure for specific manufacturing applications.
